LBGT - More Than Just Your Average Sex Blog

The question was raised recently concerning why we decided to have a LBGT (Lesbian, Bi, Gay, Trans) category and a separate Sex category all to itself. Obviously sex is a huge part of LBGT, so why make a distinction between the two? The answer to this really lies in the question. Yes the LBGT category does contain blogs completely devoted to sex, but in most cases the subject of sex is just a minor part of what these blogs are all about. Believe it or not the majority of LBGT blogs are extremely political. LBGT blogs often are written by those that have more than just sex on the brain, but instead are trying to change public policy and bring awareness of what it means to be Lesbian, Bi, Gay, or Trans in 2008.

Again these two categories share a lot in common, but rarely when looking at the blogs that make up the Best Sex category will you find arguments for or against presidential candidates, discussions on recent legal decisions, or other issues that this country faces on a day to day basis. Ironically LBGT is the closest thing we have to a Best Political blog this year.
