Lijit Contest Winners Announced

June 2, 2008 – 8:43 pm

This year we’ve had the privilege of being sponsored by one of the coolest sites on the web Lijit. More than just a site meter, Lijit allows you keep keep track of all your sites from one location. As part of this sponsorship Lijit together with the Best Of Blog Awards also ran a second contest with the winners being decided by a random drawing. Today I’m happy to announce the lucky sites that will be taking home a T-Shirt/Sticker for 3rd Place, T-shirt/Sticker/$20 Gift Certificate To I-Tunes for 2nd Place, and a T-Shirt/Sticker/Mogo Mouse for 1st Place are:

Grand Prize Winner: Three Beanz

2nd Place Winner: Travels With My Teenager

3rd Place Winner: Tales From The Stirrups

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and special thanks to all those that made this year’s contest a major success!  Without the support of sponsors, the thousands who nominated their favorite sites, and all of you who checked back here everyday to vote, none of this would be possible. This contest is put together by a great group of volunteers who merely want to help shine a light on blogs that deserve more attention. Thank you all and see you next year!

  5. Discovering Lijit this morning feels like a promising start to the day. What a great site! I hope you’ll take a look at my blog, Good Life Northwest. http://goodlifenw.blogspot.com It’s young, only four months old, but I’m getting more loyal readers every week and already have a substantial following. The whole idea of it is to encourage people to look around at this region we live in and see all there is to love, value and want to preserve. It includes much useful information combined with history, philosophy, nostalgia, and just plain good writing that inspires and transports the reader. I give it all I’ve got every time.

If you decide to take a look, please don’t miss the post from July 9 called “Adventure on Adventuress-a Tale of Tall Ships” It’s been a big favorite.

Thank you for your time and for what you’re doing to encourage quality in the world of blogging.

    Sincerely,
    Candace

  7. Hi,

Here’s a magazine you should know about. It’s called La Cucina Italiana and it’s the U.S. edition of Italy’s oldest and most popular cooking magazine. It’s all about cooking traditional & modern Italian dishes using healthy, fresh and seasonal ingredients. (Thankfully, it’s for chefs of all levels.) I’m looking to spread the word, and if you’d like to take a look, I’d be delighted to send you a free media subscription. Here’s the site. http://www.lacucinaitalianamagazine.com. Also, if you want to host a recipe contest, we can provide the winner with a free subscription as well. Some ideas for the contest are:

    – Momma’s homemade spaghetti sauce
    – The tastiest organic Italian soup for fall weather
    – Gelato to chill for
    – Holidays in the homeland…the most authentic – and delicious – Italian holiday dish

If you’d like to receive the magazine, please send your contact information to me at Vickie@reynoldspublicrelations.com. Thanks!

  10. Longtime champion of the ski industry, particularly skiing in Utah and more specific Park City, has passed away.

At 87 years old, Nick Badami, former owner of Park City Mountain Resort who purchased the resort in 1975, was a prominent figure in Utah Skiing. Often remember for being a champaign in bringing World Cup racing to the resort while he and his son were at the helm. He was on the Salt Lake Olympic Committee and had skiing and Utah skiing as a priority throughout his career.

On behalf of the Ski Utah Blog I want to pass along my condolences to the Badami family and say “Thank You fine sir” for the influence you had on the industry we love
